How to Begin
Begin by planning the layout of your obstacle course. Consider the space you have available and the number of obstacles you want to include. Make sure to include a variety of challenges to keep it interesting.
Get creative with the Trot & Tackle Challenge designs! Some popular obstacles include jumps, poles, barrels, bridges, and gates. You can also incorporate natural elements like logs or water obstacles if possible.
Time & Scoring
Add time and scoring elements to your Trot & Tackle challenge. Participants should aim to complete the course in the shortest time possible that is safe for the horse and rider. Then create a scoring system that includes accuracy, style, and completion of obstacle tasks.
Safety First
Always prioritize safety when designing your course. Ensure that obstacles are sturdy and well-secured. Remove any potential hazards from the area, and if necessary, have a designated person monitoring the course during the challenge.
